Pastor Barnabas Daniel
Pastor Barnabas Daniel, married to Hirut Daniel and Father of two children, Onesimos and Christianne, has a tremendous passion for God’s word coupled with a love for God’s people. He has a passion and a contagious spirit of generosity that flows through every facet of his ministry. Having received his mandate from God, Pastor Barnabas, obediently fulfills his calling as Senior Pastor of The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus in Great Britain.
Called to ministry in 1974, Pastor Barnabas began serving at the youth service within his local hometown Church where he was born and raised, The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus in Nekempte, Welega. He is the great grandson of Onesimos Nesib, the first person to translate the entire Protestant Bible into the language of the Oromo, who is commemorated in the American Lutheran calendar on 21st June
As the passion for his calling grew, Pastor Barnabas became conscious that God was calling him into the ordained ministry. In 1987, he entered the Ethiopian Evangelical Mekane Yesus Seminary where, in 1990, he was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Theology (B. Th.)
Continuing his ministry in Great Britain, Pastor Barnabas has established The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus in Great Britain.
Pastor Barnabas has a clear vision, with one central principle; to build and develop a kingdom of empowered people for God. As an active participant in local and European missions, Pastor Barnabas, since 1990 till the present, has been instrumental in a number of different Churches, events and proceedings.
